Conservatives who are largely cisgender bros too scared to enter a Victoria’s Secret shop have once again switched their stance from anti-sexy to pro-sexy after the company’s announcement that they would be rebranding, ditching their “angels” models for women who are inspiring in other ways.

While just a couple of months ago they were predicting the end times because sexy ladies performed a sexy song at the Super Bowl, they are now outraged that Victoria’s Secret will have fewer ads featuring sexiness and instead focus on female entrepreneurs and women’s rights.

Victoria’s Secret executives stated that the “angels” angle is no longer “culturally relevant” and have decided to keep up with the times and focus more on the people they are most likely to actually sell their products to.
“When the world was changing, we were too slow to respond,” said chief executive of the brand Martin Waters. “We needed to stop being about what men want and to be about what women want.”
The company’s new brand ambassadors will include Indian actor and entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas as well as U.S. soccer star and vocal women’s rights advocate Megan Rapinoe, which should help explain the real reason why right-wingers are mad.
“As a gay woman, I think a lot about what we think is sexy, and we are afforded the ability to do that, because I don’t have to wear the traditional sexy thing to be sexy and I don’t think the traditional thing is sexy when it comes to my partner or people I’ve dated,” said Rapinoe. “I think functionality is probably the sexiest thing we could possibly achieve in life. Sometimes just cool is sexy, too.”
Conservatives have hated Rapinoe ever since she knelt during the national anthem at a game in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and all Black Americans, followed by crimes such as being a lesbian, fighting for equal pay for women, and saying that she deserved her World Cup win as captain of the National Women’s Soccer Team.
Many women, as well as trans and non-binary folks who use bras and maybe enjoy a little lace on their underwear, appear to agree with Rapinoe, with plenty making cracks that the best thing Victoria’s Secret could do for their brand would be to make affordable bras that actually work well. Some right-wing cisgender straight men, however, are very busy airing their opinions about the attractiveness of Rapinoe and the other new ambassadors as they entirely miss the point of the rebrand.

What these dudes don’t seem to understand is that their hateful, bigoted wailing against the Victoria’s Secret rebrand is only going to fuel sales and Twitter fills up with people laughing at them before heading to the company’s website for some spite shopping.
