Ireland Baldwin, daughter of the well-known actor who accidentally killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins because his prop gun contained a live round somehow, was furious with right-wing pundit Candace Owens after she called the tragedy “poetic justice.” Owens used this term to describe a preventable death of a rising star in film production and mother because Alec had sometimes criticized Donald Trump and his supporters, or as she put it, painted them all as “evil murderers.”

“Alec Baldwin spent 4 years dedicated to painting Donald Trump and his supporters as evil murderers,” said Owens in a now-deleted tweet. “What has happened to Alec would be an example of poetic justice if it weren’t for the actual innocent people that were murdered by him.”

She later posted a small correction that is still up on her Twitter account.
Ireland seemed like she was already considering a social media break before she discovered the original Owens tweet, which prompted her to utterly scorch the pundit on Instagram and announce just such a break because she felt “ashamed to breathe the same air as this woman.”
“You are the most disgusting, hateful, cancerous human being I’ve ever come across. Regardless of your foul opinions most of the time, the fact that you would disrespect the life of a woman who was accidentally and tragically killed,” Baldwin wrote. “Shame on you.”
Ireland went on to say that she doesn’t “give a f—” if Owens is “unvaccinated” or a Republican, though there are plenty of people who remain disturbed by the pundit’s extreme anti-vaxxer campaign, but thinks that she should make an effort to be respectful to people, including, perhaps, the dead.
“But we aren’t debating masks and vaccines and abortion and trans rigthts here…a woman’s life was lost. Your tweets, lack of information, and ignorance are hurting people,” Ireland continued. “You and that scumbag @jackmposobiec don’t have a clue what you’re even talking about and you usually never do.”

The young Baldwin later updated her Instagram followers to say that she had engaged in a real and private conversation with Owens, posting a screenshot of the end in which she thanked the pundit for speaking with her.
“Thank you for taking the time to have a real conversation,” said Baldwin. “Have a peaceful evening.”
“No problem,” Owens replied. “Same to you.”

In spite of this supposedly amicable interaction, Owens still has not deleted the multiple other tweets attacking Alec, including one she retweeted from known white supremacist Jack Posobiec.

Owens has since moved on to attacking trans people, Dr. Anthony Fauci, and continuing to push her dangerous anti-vaccine agenda and COVID-19 misinformation.
