Though it’s difficult to believe this is only just now happening, Rudy Giuliani has tested positive for COVID-19, news that was announced by President Trump himself in a tweet on Sunday.

Not much information is available regarding Giuliani’s condition as of yet, but according to CNN, he was admitted to Georgetown University Hospital over the weekend, and Giuliani himself has since tweeted that he is “getting great care.”

Prior to that confirmation on Sunday, Trump broke the news to his followers, announcing that his personal lawyer “has tested positive for the China Virus.”

Giuliani has been hard at work ever since early November, trying to undermine democracy and get the results of the election thrown out to the benefit of Trump. He’s made headlines for a slew of embarrassing situations during that time, including the Four Seasons Total Landscaping fiasco and that press conference where hair dye was dripping disgustingly down his sweaty face.

Prior to that, he had been in the news for getting caught with his hand down his pants during a prank that was caught on camera as part of Borat 2.

In between those flashy, viral moments, Giuliani was seen repeatedly without wearing a mask, despite the fact that we are still in the middle of a pandemic. Both chambers of the Arizona state legislature have already shut down entirely in response to his positive test, as Giuliani recently testified maskless in one of his attempts to get Biden’s win overturned.

It’s for reasons like this that many lacked empathy for Giuliani after his diagnosis was confirmed.

It remains to be seen if any additional parts of state government have to shut down or quarantine due to potential exposure to Giuliani’s COVID, but he was also around lawmakers in both Michigan and Georgia recently.
