I recently got my hair cut after a year and a half—and it was incredible. I was vaccinated, my hairstylist was vaccinated, and everything was professional and organized and felt safe. Stylists at the Khemia Hi Vibe Frequency Salon in Gold Coast, Australia are operating a bit differently.

The salon recently told clients that they are “not their hairdresser” if they have had the COVID vaccine.

The salon, which is self-described as a “holistic hi vibe salon which harmonises the mind and body,” is refusing service to people who are vaccinated because they believe it poses a threat to the “health and safety” of their staff and clients. They say, without evidence, that the “unknown health effects of the mRNA vaccine are not covered by our public liability insurance.”

The salon posted a picture of a needle on social media alongside baseless claims that there have been “1000s of reported side effects” from the COVD vaccine that the salon considered before refusing to give service to vaccinated clients. I’m not quite sure how they think a vaccinated person is going to transfer their vaccinated status to an unvaccinated person, but go on. You guys sound very scientific.

“We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience to you. However the safety of our staff and existing clients is our priority,” the post concluded. “We will re-evaluate our policy when clinical trials of the experimental injection are completed in 2023.”
The salon’s Instagram post was labeled with “missing context” after the Australian Associated Press fact-checked the post and said it could be misleading.
Salon owner Yazmina Adler, who claimed she cured her period pain by smearing period blood on herself, explained on 7 News, that “stuff that’s in” the vaccine can be transmitted from one person to another.

“From what I am reading and hearing, it’s coming through sweat, it’s coming through spit, it’s coming through the air,” Adler said, sounding like she was describing a monster from a 1950s creature feature.
