Ted Cruz Attacks American Military In Latest Pathetic Attempt To Score Points Against ‘Lefty’ Twitter

Ted Cruz is so desperate to push back at anything he perceives as progressive that he threw the American military under the bus and supported Russian propaganda in a recent tweet that angered tons of Americans, including vets.

On Thursday, the Texas senator retweeted a video comparing the Russian military to the American military. The first portion shows hardened Russian soldiers doing push ups, jumping out of planes, and aiming guns.

The tone shifts dramatically as the video switches to an animated retelling of Emma Malonelord’s journey from being raised in California by two moms and ultimately enlisting in the army.

“Holy crap,” Cruz wrote. “Perhaps a woke, emasculated military is not the best idea…”

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that the two videos were juxtaposed specifically for their differences, and every American has seen ads for the army that push the same action movie hero narrative the Russian video seems to be putting out there. Telling unique stories of individual soldiers doesn’t change that.

But Cruz is always looking for a chance to insult the left and “wokeness,” to the point that he would prioritize that over all else, even if in doing so he, a highly visible American politician, insults our own military and compliments Russia’s at the same time.

And yes, he later clarified that he considered this military video a “Dem” army ad, and accused Democrats “& woke media” of “trying to turn [the military] into pansies.”

But Cruz accusing anyone else of being emasculated is pretty rich, all things considered.

Plenty of folks also pointed out that perhaps we simply shouldn’t be advertising our military at all, but if we’re going to do so, it makes sense to make it clear that there are people of all walks of life serving when trying to recruit more than just the straight white guy who wants to go out and blow things up.

But no one ever accused Cruz of having critical thinking skills, and they’re certainly not going to start now.
