Sometimes subtle revenge is the sweetest of all, and also going viral on TikTok. That may be a minor consolation to Katie, or @cornchipsandcorgis on TikTok, because her landlord is trying to rent out her apartment after she refused to pay the new jacked-up rent.

Landlords are allowed to jack up the rent and tenants are allowed to say no, but Katie had a lot of good reasons to say no. In a viral TikTok, she showed what they all were and how she subtly points them out to potential new tenants viewing the place.

“Things I do to sabotage my landlord’s showing that just make sense,” she titled the TikTok.

Basically, the place is very humid and falling apart. If a landlord doesn’t improve the building or apartment, why should rent increase? And why would anyone else rent it? Well, real estate is a wacky world, so someone probably will, sadly.
Katie’s video got popular enough that people everywhere were able to see it all over the world, and she made a second part to her apartment tour with all the other messed up stuff she couldn’t fit into the first TikTok:

The paint on the walls is chipped, there are big cracks in the ceiling, and apparently all of the humidity is causing mold to grow, ruining some of her stuff, like a blanket and pillows. Yum! Good luck to Katie and whoever the poor soul is that ends up renting this basement death trap after her.
