A Pinterest account thought to belong to Brian Laundrie, the van lifer currently in hiding after his fiancé 22-year-old Gabby Petito turned up dead after their road trip seemed to go off the rails, has been discovered by internet sleuths who were more than a little disturbed by what they found.

A collection of images and quotes seems to reveal a preoccupation with death, loss, and escape that have many speculating on what kind of headspace Laundrie was in before he left New York in his van with his fiancé.

In the context of Petito’s death, which was just ruled to be a homicide following the autopsy on her remains, images of ghosts and tombstones reading “my baby” and a “DNAR” (do not attempt to resuscitate) tattoo take on additional meaning that tends to leave viewers feeling rather unsettled.
In addition to ghosts with legs and clowns with anxiety, the Pinterest account @blaundrie1197, which sports his name and includes a large folder full of alternative living content, features an image based on a poster spotted in Oregon in 2006 meant to be the opposite of a “missing dog” flyer.
“Don’t try to find me. I have finally escaped my ‘master’s’ wicked clutches,” it reads. “To others I say: Join me. Bite the hand that feeds you. Vive la liberté.”
Another post sports the text of that one Fight Club quote that seems extremely relevant to Laundrie right now: “It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything.”

Much of the U.S. public has been fascinated by this case, which started with Petito, a popular social media influencer who used her platforms to share her and Laundrie’s “van lifer” adventures, disappearing in the middle of a cross-country trip with her fiancé. Laundrie ended up returning to his parents’ home in Florida without Petito after she stopped posting or answering her phone and refused to speak with authorities or her parents about her whereabouts. On Monday, human remains matching Petito’s description were found near her last known location.

Every new detail that comes to light in this story seems to confirm the widespread opinion that Laundrie murdered his fiancé. Similar sleuths have also scoured the couple’s joint Pinterest account and additional content mentioning babies has led to speculation that Petito was pregnant, though this has not been confirmed or even the possibility mentioned by the autopsy report.
The Laundrie family’s attorneys have said that Brian, a person of interest in the case, is “in hiding” due to the fact that domestic violence is very often initially suspected in situations like this. The FBI has resumed their search for Laundrie following the designation of Petito’s cause of death as a homicide. His last known location is the Carlton Reserve in Florida, a massive area that often poses dangers to hikers and campers.
