There is nothing the GOP is better at than finding someone else to blame, but this particular vaccine conspiracy theory from Breitbart writer John Nolte is so convoluted it’s hard to imagine it catching on. On the other hand, QAnon exists, so who knows?

Nolte wrote an op-ed for the ultra-conservative online vertical claiming that Democrats have been using “reverse psychology” to prevent Republicans from getting the vaccine, causing them to die.
In his article, Nolte, says that all sorts of big wig Dems are involved, for instance, famed Congressman Howard Stern. Just kidding, Stern is a shock jock radio host who often talks about the unvaccinated on his show. Whether that’s in good taste or not is debatable, but this Nolte thinks Stern is doing something much more nefarious:

In a country where elections are decided on razor-thin margins, does it not benefit one side if their opponents simply drop dead?
If I wanted to use reverse psychology to convince people not to get a life-saving vaccination, I would do exactly what Stern and the left are doing… I would bully and taunt and mock and ridicule you for not getting vaccinated, knowing the human response would be, Hey, f-ck you, I’m never getting vaccinated!
He also blamed Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi, because an unhinged Breitbart post isn’t complete without blaming the Democratic president and House Speaker for something. Weirdly, Nolte kind of masks the point that Republicans refusing to get vaccinated to “own the libs” is moronic towards the end, saying:
Just stand back for a moment and think about this…
Right now, a countless number of Trump supporters believe they are owning the left by refusing to take a life-saving vaccine — a vaccine, by the way, everyone on the left has taken. Oh, and so has Trump.
Now think about this…On this very day, about 1,000 people in the U.S. will die of the China Flu. How many of those lives could’ve been saved had they been vaccinated? Is it 998?
Is it 778?
Is it 229?
Does it matter?
And if the left is all vaccinated and we’re not, who’s winning?
But then he says mandates are just another evil plot to convince people to NOT get the vaccine because they’ll get angry and refuse. He does not mention that his own beloved Trump was discouraging people from wearing masks or social distancing or even getting vaccinated until recently, and his messaging is much more powerful than Dr. Fauci begging people to get the shot during a news conference.
If you react like a toddler to people telling you to do things for public safety, that’s really a You Problem.
The piece is getting dragged as it deserves:

Even though this is so stupid it’s offensive, I guess if the net gain is some people start getting vaccinated to protest Democratic rule, that’s good?
