A school teacher living in the Kings Lake neighborhood of Naples, Florida was exposed as both a racist and a local menace after she was filmed yelling at a mother and her kids from her expensive car, calling the mixed-race children “half-breeds” and “mulatto kids.” The family was merely taking a walk on a public path, but neighbors say that for whatever reason, the woman now dubbed “Kings Lake Karen” has made it her personal duty to police that particular stretch of concrete and scream at anyone who dares set foot on it.

The path is next to the teacher’s house but is still considered a public walkway. Neighbors interviewed by local media said that the woman, identified as Patricia Schmidt, has been a local terror for some time and routinely curses people out and flips them off for being anywhere near her house.

Apparently, that particular little path is supposed to be reserved for Kings Lake residents only for some unknowable reason, and Schmidt feels the need to make sure that anyone who steps foot on it lives in the area. She immediately doubted that the woman she yelled at in this video could afford to live there, and the reason for that seems to be that she had at least one mixed-race kid with her.
“Did you pay for that path? You can’t afford to live in Kings Lake. You’re white trash!” she yells in the video. “Are those your mulatto kids? Did you have sex with a Black guy? Your kids are half-breeds, look at them.”
“What are you talking about?” says the baffled mother.
In an interview with NBC, the unnamed victim of this racist tirade is a foster mother to a biracial kid who she says has PTSD. Being exposed to this kind of aggressive racist probably did not help with that.
Many of Schmidt’s neighbors came forward to condemn her for this behavior, which they say has become a frequent part of their lives and that she often specifically targets children.
“She’s just appointed herself the bridge troll of that little stretch of property,” said one neighbor.

“She wants to know who they are, where they live, and has no problems telling them where to go,” said another.
This Karen has also made her awfulness publicly clear with signs and flags depicting middle fingers and hostile messages, security cameras, chains, and warnings against trespassing. Nobody seems to know exactly what her problem is, but at least one neighbor expressed concern that she might eventually turn to physical violence.
“If she’s terrorizing people in her car now, where’s it got to go before they do something? Somebody’s going to get hurt.”
Although her name was withheld by NBC in their report, they did note that she works as a teacher for the Collier County School District. The district responded to the Daily Dot’s inquiry about Schmidt by saying that they are aware of the video and are currently reviewing its contents. They said that the Kings Lake Karen “will be on administrative leave and assigned to Human Resources until the conclusion of the investigation.”
