‘Pro-Life’ Conservatives Mysteriously Miffed Pete Buttigieg And Husband Chasten Now Have Children

Much can be said about conservative hypocrisy when it comes to being “pro-life” but not actually having any concern for what happens to babies after they’re born, but the one time they do seem to care is when members of the LGBTQ community are the ones stepping up to take care of these kids.

Pete and Chasten Buttigieg announced over the weekend that they had officially welcomed two babies into their family, after telling the public in August that they were working on finalizing the process but sharing no further details at the time.

Now we know that Penelope Rose and Joseph August are the latest members of the Buttigieg clan following a year of trying to go through the adoption process.

A slew of congratulations poured in following the announcement, but conservatives have never taken kindly to Pete or his marriage, and throwing babies into the mix predictably had them clutching their pearls.

You can lose a mom or dad through death, abandonment/abuse, or by design (being intentionally brought into the world via invitro & surrogacy to be a child for a same-sex couple). It is wrong for us adults to pretend that loss of a loving mom (or dad) won’t affect the child.

It’s incredible how quickly those calling themselves “pro-life” out themselves with this kind of rhetoric rather than being happy that two parents with the means and support system to take care of children have stepped up to the plate to do so. But at the end of the day, their homophobia seems to be more important to them than much else.

Fortunately, folks online were ready to push back against the religious-driven hate.

It was never about “saving the baybees”, it was always about controlling the pregnant. These lot will scream until their faces turn blue about how “adoption is an option! Think of what the babies want!” and then balk when confronted with adult adoptees and system kids.

No. They’re usually just bigots that the world would do better without.A child doesn’t “need” a mother as a parental figure. Plenty of single fathers do fine by themselves, and so do gay fathers.
