When you hear that a woman has slapped a Navy sailor, you expect it’s going to be in a situation like this infamous one, where he probably deserved much worse than a slap.

But Pizzeria Karen is here to thwart your expectations.
On 9/11, this woman verbally and then physically attacked a young service member at Central Pizza in Berlin, Connecticut. The young sailor, Sean Notle, Jr., showed amazing self-control as Pizzeria Karen swore at him repeatedly, including calling him a “f—king piece of s—t,” accusing him of stolen valor and wearing a fake uniform, then physically attacked him.

Calling Sean “disgusting,” repeatedly in the video, she then snatches his Navy cover and throws it to the floor. Sean, on his lunch break from the Naval Submarine School in the nearby town of Groton, was dressed in his military camouflage. The woman in the video continues screaming that his uniform and ID are “fake.”
Finally, she darts forward into Sean’s personal space and, unprovoked, slaps him across the face. A video of the incident taken by Sean’s friend was posted on TikTok by his aunt:
Sean later detailed the assault in a Facebook post:

The incident swiftly made international news, while local police put out a call for information regarding her identity.
TikTokkers also joined forces remotely, trying to garner whatever information they could about the woman’s identity.
Jason Bikakis, the owner of Central Pizza, was present during the incident. He expressed shock and revulsion at the woman’s behavior.
“I have never seen something like that,” he told local media.

TikTok was quick to point out that the woman must have given a name to place and pick up her pizza order, and that Bikakis should be able to give her name to local law enforcement.

Some TikTok users also believe that, using LinkedIn and Facebook, they may have identified the woman in the video. Police have neither confirmed nor denied that the name being put forward on TikTok is the correct name of the perpetrator. They did, however, confirm that they have found the woman in the video and will be pursuing punitive legal action against her.
“We got a bunch of tips […] that we followed up on,” Acting Berlin Police Chief Chris Ciuci said, “so we anticipate there will be charges forthcoming.”
“She was in a public restaurant and she created alarm by her language and by assaulting someone,” he explained. “So, there are charges related to breach of peace and assault in the third degree that we’re pursuing.”
