A TikToker’s video about how much he loves his wife is helping to call out toxic masculinity and unrealistic misogynistic expectations.

Professor Chesko (@speechprof) watched a video from @nofilterpod_ that didn’t sit right with him, so he knew he had to respond.

“If my wife lets herself go after I have kids with her, I’m going to tell her once, if you don’t get your sh*t together — I still want to be sexually attracted to my wife, my spouse, but if you can’t do that…I’m out,” said a guy on @nofilterpod_.

It’s the kind of misogyny one would expect from someone that tags their videos #redpill, but Professor Chesko was so bothered by it that he decided to post his own response.

“I do portrait photography, and my wife once asked me why I don’t edit her photos the way I edit my client photos,” he said. “And I didn’t know what she was talking about. And she’s like, ‘you know, you take off all of their flaws, and their wrinkles, and everything else about them.’ And I was like, ‘I remove! I do the same to yours.’ And she was like, ‘no you don’t.’”

“And it took me awhile to realize that I can’t edit her photos because there are no flaws. Every ‘flaw’ that she sees is part of our history,” the TikToker continued, tearing up. “Everything she doesn’t like about herself reminds me of our three beautiful children. And I just can’t fathom thinking the way this guy in this video thinks.”

Professor Chesko wasn’t the only one frustrated with the original podcast video, and the comments on his TikTok make that very clear.

“Hear this men? This, THIS is what a real man should be,” wrote @andysdorm. “Learn from him.”

“Not you welling up bro I feel the same about my wife… the dude in the video should never have a wife,” added @jpfallen, while @peacefulparts pointed out, “This is why you’re married and he’s talking about a hypothetical wife.”

“My husband is just like you. I’m so lucky. The world needs more men like you. I will never understand men like him,” @inspiredtire chimed in.

Although so many of the men in @speechprof’s comments agreed with him, there were, of course, detractors. But they got called out just as quickly as they commented, and hit with some truths that will hopefully help them learn to be better.

“All the little boys saying ‘simp’ I hope one day you’re able to mature and feel real love,” said @nats_bites. “It’s not simping if the feelings go both ways.”
