Yet another American who insisted that COVID-19 is a hoax has reportedly died and left behind a series of social media posts that simply did not age well.

Minion Death Cult Podcast shared screenshots sent to them by one of their listeners from the Facebook page of someone named Don.

On August 5, Don boldly declared that somebody should “inject me with the corona virus.”

“If I don’t die then you are all f—king deceived political pawns!” he elaborated. “Let’s go! Bring it! ALASKA AS ONE! AMERICA AS ONE!!!”

At some point in the following months, Don somehow caught COVID-19, and shared one final post from the hospital before he died.

“Currently I am in Providence Hospital ICU fighting covid complications. Each day my lungs are getting worse. I may be on the ventilator tonight. That pretty much means the end,” he wrote.

He paid tribute to his friends and family, including two children, and said that he was at peace.
But then he ended his Facebook post with this: “Love everyone! President Trump! Fight the [good] fight!! Break down the lefts [sic] fraud! Make America Great Again!”

Another series of screenshots from Don’s page showed that he had at least one friend who placed the responsibility for Don’s death firmly in Trump’s hands.
“I blame Trump and his poor leadership. Unfortunately Don worshipped Trump and followed his leadership to a fault,” the anonymous person wrote, before confirming Don’s death.

Dedication to Trump and denial of COVID-19 being a serious threat have often seemed to go hand-in-hand in the United States, and too many stories like Don’s have come out over the course of 2020. It never stops being bizarre, and deeply tragic, that taking precautions against a worldwide pandemic has somehow become a partisan issue in this country.

The U.S. has surpassed 10.3 million cases of COVID-19, with 240,000 dead. And those are numbers that will continue to climb as Trump devotees like Don insist there’s nothing to worry about, apparently right up until the literal moment they die.
