A Canadian man has become internet famous for his not-so-polite TikTok video requesting that supporters of Donald Trump who are disappointed in his election loss “stay the f— away from Canada.” In fact, he would prefer it if they didn’t even enter his country in order to get to Alaska.

He provides many good reasons for Trump supporters to avoid Canada, including their single-payer healthcare system and all the free abortions and cannabis.

“I’ve seen more than a few posts of people who are not happy about the results of the election and want to move to Canada,” says Rick Silver. “Trump supporters moving to Canada? No! Get that out of your head, we don’t want you here. We don’t want your COVID here, we don’t want your ideals here, we don’t want any of it.”

Pretty much every U.S. election ends with some people threatening to move out of the country. However, it’s particularly funny when Republicans do it because nations like Canada, the U.K., and others considered to be most like the U.S. are all significantly further to the left politically than the U.S.
It’s even funnier this year because the COVID-19 crisis in this country got so bad thanks to the Trump administration’s inaction that most places won’t even accept U.S. Americans for a visit right now, let alone to immigrate.

“And we all wear masks!” Silver notes after listing all the “socialist” aspects of Canada. “Like we take this pandemic seriously. So stay the f— away from Canada. We don’t even want you coming through here to come to Alaska! Stay the f— away.”
In a follow-up video, Silver does apologize for not apologizing in his original, which is something U.S. Americans have come to expect from their northern neighbors. But he also re-emphasizes that Trump supporters would not fit in in Canada, especially considering the fact that they “walk around carrying assault rifles, like, in the middle of town.”

“You can’t do that up here,” he says.
He does, however, acknowledge that Trump supporters might be able to get into Canada by claiming refugee status, but they would have to leave their guns behind.
The popularity of these videos, and/or possibly the surprising number of Trump supporters saying they want to move to Canada now, prompted Silver to make a second follow-up in which he gave yet more reasons not to. For one, there’s a lot of snow, and also, “Thanksgiving, that’s gonna f— you up completely.”

He would, however, be happy to accept someone like Kamala Harris into Canada. But that’s too bad, because we’re going to need her here.
