A Georgia voter in her mid-90s caused confusion when she used her husband’s name to participate in the Nov. 3 election. Now, she’s stepped up to confirm she cast the ballot that some election fraud seekers portrayed as a “dead voter.”

Agnes Blaylock, a 96-year-old voter from Covington, Ga. (about 40 miles east of Atlanta), registered to vote in the most recent election as “Mrs. James Blalock,” following old-school naming conventions. James Blalock died in 2006, but the widow still honors her late husband’s memory by using his name.

Brendan Keefe, an investigative reporter with Atlanta’s WXIA-TV, cleared up the misperception in a pair of linked tweets Friday morning.

That follows a Thursday article from the Daily Mail, which claims to have reached Blalock and confirmed her identity.

That publication, which had Blalock as 94, reports she cast a mail ballot using “Mrs” in conjunction with her late husband’s first name. She also told the Mail that the issue has been sorted out with elections officials in Newton County, where Blalock cast a vote for Biden.

The Trump War Room account highlighted the case, even unearthing Blalock’s obituary and posting it as part of the tweet.

It was refuted within the thread.

The “James Blalock is a dead person who voted” story was part of a Tucker Carlson segment on the Wednesday edition of his Fox News Channel program, as part of an ongoing effort from Carlson and fellow Fox News personalities to allege voter fraud.

The New York Post article covering Carlson’s coverage said Carlson “identified dozens of dead people who cast ballots in this year’s presidential election, pointing to a push in some states to mass-mail ballots to all registered voters automatically.”

It went on to say, “Slamming the media for failing to report on such voting irregularities, calling it a ‘media blackout,’ Carlson listed more than 25 people who voted from beyond the grave just in states where President Trump is currently challenging the vote count.”

The Post then quoted Carlson as saying, “What we’re about to tell you is accurate,” before two media outlets disproved one of the “accurate” cases inside of 48 hours.
