Video from an election fraud hearing on Wednesday is making the Trump team look as foolish as ever, as one of their witnesses caused so much of a scene that even Rudy Giuliani tried to get her to simmer down.

Melissa Carone claims to have been a contractor for Dominion Voting Systems, the company that made the voting machines used in a number of swing state counties, and which has had unfounded allegations of fraud and “vote switching” lobbed at it by the president and his supporters over the past month.

Carone says she witnessed some of this fraud, that tens of thousands of votes at the Detroit location where she supposedly worked had purposely been counted twice — something she, of course, has no proof of whatsoever.
“Everything that happened at that TCF Center was fraud,” she told the Michigan Senate Oversight Committee. “Every single thing.”
One video of Carone speaking to representatives has gone particularly viral, as it shows her repeatedly interrupting a Republican lawmaker attempting to question her confusing and outlandish claims, to the point where Giuliani appears to try to shush her at one point.
“The poll book is completely off. Completely off,” she says at the start of the clip.

“Off by 30,000?” Rep. Steve Johnson asks, trying to make sense of the allegations. “I’d say that poll book is off by 100,000,” Carone insisted.
Following that, she claimed that there were literally zero registered voters in Wayne County’s poll book and cut Johnson off as he tried to ask her another question, at which point Giuliani leans over, pats her arm, and shushes her — but she ignores him.

The whole series of videos are a nightmarish reflection on the Trump team’s bizarre and baseless crusade to overturn democracy, and how poorly it’s going. A judge in Wayne County had already ruled Carone’s claims “not credible” after reading her affidavit, and her testimony (which was not under oath) only made her seem more unhinged and less reliable than ever — yet she’s essentially the team’s star witness.

As many people pointed out, we can, without a doubt, look forward to seeing these moments reenacted on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
But as far as the election results go, if this is the best witness Giuliani could procure, it’s no wonder the Trump campaign’s lawsuits keep getting thrown out.
