Nurse Gives Powerful Response To Actor Encouraging People To Ignore COVID Restrictions

British actor and politician Laurence Fox sent out a controversial (to put it mildly) tweet on Sunday encouraging people to violate the nation’s COVID-19 social distancing mandates, announcing he had just had lunch with a large group. He argued that if the National Health Service can’t handle millions of people getting sick with a dangerous illness, then “the @nhs isn’t fit for purpose.”

Whatever that means.

“Stay out. Protect your rights,” he wrote. “Compliance is violence.”

The tweet was thoroughly ratio’d and sparked feuds between Fox and figures like Piers Morgan, as well as the NHS itself, which correctly pointed out that they have 380,000 more followers than Fox does.

But perhaps the most powerful response was from a “Cardio-Thoracic Intensive Care nurse” by the name of Joanna, who let Fox know what she had been doing while he was having lunch and hugging loved ones.

“Just held a persons hand as they died alone, without their family or loved ones by their side,” she said. “Glad you enjoyed your meal.”

This simple tweet has gained over 913,000 likes since Monday — far more than Fox’s paltry 17,000 likes, which have been outpaced by the number of mostly critical comments. Fox has so far declined to respond, choosing instead to boost the odd supportive comment and argue with Morgan, whom nobody likes anyway.

He also claimed that COVID-19 is no more deadly than the seasonal flu, which has been proven month after month to be extremely inaccurate.

Joanna, meanwhile, has been overwhelmed with responses to her tweet to the point that she announced she had to take a Twitter break less than a day after posting her response to Fox.

We appreciate and love you, Joanna. Thank you for your hard, selfless work.
