Julia Louis-Dreyfus took to social media on Tuesday to announce a special charity-driven reunion table read of her show, Veep, and she did it in the best way possible — a scathing mockery of Rudy Giuliani’s current crusade to “prove” an anti-Trump election conspiracy.

While Veep was originally intended as a political satire, there has been far too much overlap between the ridiculous adventures of its over-the-top characters and the absurd administration we’ve been living through in the United States for the past four years.

That’s the premise of Louis-Dreyfus’ promo, as she starts by pointing out that the contradictory protests that happened immediately after the election, in which Trump supporters in some states insisted vote counting had to cease while Trump supporters in other states insisted it must go on, was eerily similar to the plot of an episode of Veep.

But it soon became apparent that even that statement — while true — was mocking Giuliani, as Louis-Dreyfus went on to hyperbolically claim “hundreds of thousands” of scenes had been stolen from Veep.
“To any experienced investigator, prosecutor, this would suggest there was a plan from a centralized place, specifically focused on Veep,” she said.
And it wasn’t only her words that mocked Giuliani, or even her mannerism, but, most notably, some foul, black substance dripping down from her hairline and smearing across her face, drawing us back to the nightmarish scenario that was Giuliani’s hair dye melting down his own face at that recent press conference.

All of this was to say that Veep is reuniting for a table read of the uncut script of “Mother,” the prescient episode about a confusing recount in Nevada.
The event is set to feature the original cast along with some special guests, according to Louis-Dreyfus, who dabbed haphazardly at her face with a gross handkerchief a la Giuliani while making the announcement.
A donation is expected upon requesting a ticket to the event, and the money will go directly to America Votes to help the organizations already on the ground in Georgia working to register voters for the upcoming Senate runoffs that will mean the difference between Republican or Democrat control of the upper house of Congress over the next two years.

Before she signed off, Louis-Dreyfus left us with one more note from the Trump campaign’s fight against the election results, rehashing a sentence so confusing, it’s hard to believe it was actually spoken by lawyer Sidney Powell at one of these ridiculous press conferences:
“Be forewarned, we shall release the Kraken.”
