CNN reported Wednesday that Donald Trump’s trip to Gettysburg for a Pennsylvania Senate committee hearing with Rudy Giuliani after the lawyer came into contact with another person who had tested positive for COVID-19. The hearing will go on as scheduled and will discuss the so far utterly unproven allegations of massive election fraud.

The hearing was called by Republican State Senator Doug Mastriano, who claimed that “Pennsylvanians have lost faith in the electoral system.”

“Over the past few weeks, I have heard from thousands of Pennsylvanians regarding issues experienced at the polls, irregularities with the mail-in voting system and concerns whether their vote was counted,” he said. “We need to correct these issues to restore faith in our republic.”
Meanwhile, the location of the hearing coupled with this last-minute cancellation has Trump critics making a whole lot of Gettysburg jokes, being the site of both a famous Civil War battle and address. And, of course, there’s always jokes to be made whenever Giuliani is involved.
