Cursing Kid Exasperatedly Explains Lockdowns To His Mom

A cursing kid who wants everyone to stay inside during the pandemic is making the rounds on Twitter, and people are predictably split on the matter.

The video was shared by actor and comedian Joel McHale, who says he doesn’t know where it originated, but considers it “a masterpiece.”

“This kid is my hero,” he writes. “Enjoy the delightful profanity.”

What follows is a short video of a woman telling her young son they can sit outside on the porch next weekend because the weather will be agreeable.

“No, the lockdown,” he tells her. “A lockdown is when you stay the f—k inside, not the f—k outside. Do you know what a lockdown is?”

The kid shakes his head in frustration, even as mom continues telling him going outside is alright.

“So you plan on staying in the house ’til like, June?” mom asks, reminding us that time has no meaning and this could have been recorded back in March or she could be referring to how we’ll all probably still be at home next summer.

“The f—king lockdown! You gotta stay the f—k inside, not the f—k outside. What the f—k? Do you hear the news? A lockdown!” he squeaks. “Not the f—k going out to parties and the casino.”

His repetitive phrasing suggests he’s picked these sentiments up from someone in his household, and mom was prompting him to repeat them so she could get it on film, but his conviction is enough to sell it either way.

While McHale praised the kiddo for his “delightful profanity,” others on the internet were quick to clutch their pearls over the sight of a young boy cursing in front of his mother.

Others took the time to debate the validity of teaching your kids about cursing and when it’s appropriate, rather than just taking a zero grounds tolerance to the whole thing, but most just took the video and face value and enjoyed the hell out of it.
