Trump Emails Republicans With Weird Graph Attacking Mitch McConnell, Taking Credit For His Reelection

Graph giving Donald Trump credit for Mitch McConnell's reelection

Donald Trump apparently used some of his remaining time in office to make his aides send out a weird graphic that directly claims credit for Mitch McConnell getting reelected while attacking him for not refusing to accept the presidential election results. The graph shows McConnell already far ahead of his opponent, as per usual in heavily-red Kentucky, but an uptick in his favorability in the polls seemingly corresponding with a “TRUMP ROBOCALL.”

It also gives credit to a single Trump tweet back in May when the polls were closer, but that was before the primary election when McConnell’s ultimate opponent, Amy McGrath, was battling progressive challenger Charles Booker.

“Sadly, Mitch forgot,” it reads in a capital letters. “He was the first one off the ship!”

Even that’s not accurate. If there was any Republican who was first off the ship, it was whoever called Arizona for Biden at Fox News. Or Mitt Romney. Still, McConnell has admitted that Biden won the 2020 election and has called for Trump and the party to move on.

Many have also pointed out the irony of Trump sending out graphs based on polls when he spent the entire prolonged election cycle attacking polls as “fake news.”

Trump reportedly met with House Republicans who have gone along with his election fraud claims on Monday. Following the Electoral College vote that certified the results for each state, all but confirming Biden’s win, Trump has almost no avenues to take the election back. Regardless, he’s still trying, continuing to tweet the same election fraud claims that haven’t worked since Election Day.

Trump has so far attacked just about anyone who hasn’t mindlessly followed his lead on the election conspiracy theories, including all of Fox News and outgoing Attorney General William Barr.

McConnell, meanwhile, is bragging about the passing of the new COVID relief bill after he spent the last several months sitting on similar bills, refusing to bring them to a vote, while over 300,000 Americans died.
