Meat Loaf/YouTube, IvankaTrump/Twitter

The final days of the Trump presidency will undoubtedly go down in the history books as some of the strangest times Americans have ever lived through. And while most of it is appalling stuff — mainly revolving around, you know, casually trying to circumvent democracy entirely to retain power — we’re getting a few laughs along the way as well.

And we got a few more yesterday when Ivanka Trump boarded Air Force One with the president and headed off to Georgia in advance of the Senate runoffs.

The president’s favorite daughter/advisor shared a photo of the two of them, but it wasn’t long before people noticed she had somehow tagged ‘70s singer and Rocky Horror Picture Show star Meat Loaf in the pic rather than her own father.
The observation triggered a wave of confused tweets as people wondered if we got to this point via an insane typo (@realDonaldTrump -> @RealMeatLoaf…it’s possible, but not easy) or if Ivanka had made the conscious decision to tag the “I’d Do Anything For Love” singer for reasons unknown to us mere peasants watching from the ground.

Ivanka has not addressed the mishap(?), Trump is too busy continuing to scream into his pillow about “fraud,” and Meat Loaf has not tweeted since 2019 but was not spotted in Georgia or anywhere near Air Force One in the past 24 hours.
This tweet may remain an unengaging, yet endlessly confusing, mystery until the day we all die.
