Despite what you might have seen in Wednesday’s Capitol MAGA riot, not all of the people who tried to get in actually got in. One woman felt enough indignation over being denied her role in history to complain to an interviewer.

Hunter Walker, the Yahoo! News White House correspond, posted the video (which has been shared by other accounts without crediting him) in which he interviews the woman, being consoled by an unidentified companion, outside the Capitol.

The woman soon identified the source of the tears, which appeared to be partially due to emotion but mostly a reaction to being maced after trying to be part of a mob interrupting Congress in session.

“I got maced,” she explained. “I made it like a foot inside and they pushed me out and they maced me.”

After she identified herself by her first name and city (“Elizabeth from Knoxville—take note, FBI!), Walker asked why she wanted to go in.

She said, forcefully, “We’re storming the Capitol! It’s a revolution!”

Some on Twitter had fun with her video. One person found that her lament worked within the Animaniacs‘ theme song.

The same person later amended it to work in President Trump’s call this past weekend to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, expressing how many votes he need to overturn the already-called election.

Someone else created a mashup that placed her interview into sad piano that turns into something very familiar (and appropriate here).

As one person observed, identifying herself to a journalist might have not been the wisest move.

Walker marveled at the virality of the video on Yahoo! News’s TikTok account, which the Washington Post commented on.

And Walker now has a better idea of who he spoke to, noting, “Multiple friends of this woman have gotten in touch with me and shared her name and confirming photos.”

And also: He saw the Animaniacs mashup, noting, “The internet is amazing.”
