A Twitter post sharing photos of little cards at a site for COVID-19 vaccine distribution that say why people got vaccinated went viral as people laughed and/or cringed at many of the reasons.

The first thing you’re likely to notice is that a good many of them state the reason for the individual getting the vaccine as “my wife made me.”

That’s certainly the first thing that North Carolina reporter Charlie Innis noticed.

To be fair, however, the entry in the bottom right is from somebody who just really wants to “eat inside of a Chili’s” again.

Still, the number of “my wife forced me to take care of myself” responses have some wondering what would happen to men if it weren’t for the fact that the women in their lives are working to keep them alive.

Aside from the health-averse husbands, there are some really sweet entries, including from those who just want their loved ones to be safe.

“I want my grandmother to be around longer,” reads one. “And I have a Black Boy to raise.”

Another says that the person got the shot “to be a better librarian,” which is wonderful after a year of libraries doing everything they can to continue providing services while following some of the most stringent safety guidelines.

Then, of course, there’s the one that reads “because mama aint [sic] raise no b—-.”

It seems the overall theme here is that women, and particularly mothers, are the people holding this bizarre thing we call human society together.

The only card really throwing a wrench in here is the one that says “my President Trump said I could/should.” Something about the “could/should” in there makes it creepy. You don’t actually need the permission of any politician to get a legally distributed vaccine. However, the one below that seems to say that someone got vaccinated because they take care of seniors, which is nice.

What’s also nice is the sheer number of hilarious jokes that these comment cards have spawned in the comments below and in the quote tweets.
