When a judgment of guilty on all three counts was handed down in the trial against former Minnesota police officer Derek Chauvin for the murder of George Floyd, many people across the country breathed the smallest sigh of relief. An officer of the law was held accountable for a brutal injustice against a Black man, and while it’s barely a start when looking at the bigger picture of racially motivated police brutality in this country, it is, at least, a start.

But some staunch conservatives had no issue expressing their dissatisfaction with the result of the trial—particularly those who get paid to publicly hate everything deemed even remotely “left,” which has somehow come to include the idea that police officers shouldn’t have free reign to get away with murder.

Ben Shapiro was among the first to make big waves, criticizing a comment by CNN’s Don Lemon following the verdict that “Justice has been served.”
“And we all know he would never have said this had the reverse verdict been reached,” Shapiro wrote.
Always showing off his brilliance, the conservative agitator likely correctly deduced that Lemon, like many people, would not have considered it justice if a man the whole country had watched commit murder on camera had been ruled “not guilty.”

Naturally, Shapiro wasn’t the only one who had to weigh in. Tomi Lahren offered up sarcastic remarks about how now that there was “justice,” everyone should just go back to being chill about police officers and not protest brutality, Candace Owens complained about “mob justice,” and Tucker Carlson simply lost his mind.

Just like nothing could have convinced people who watched that video and believed Chauvin to be guilty that he wasn’t, nothing will ever change these people who profit off division, fear-mongering, and supporting the long-held racist status quo of the United States.

So while it may be important to know what kind of vile nonsense they’re spewing to the Fox News viewers who trust them, that’s about as far as the necessity of knowledge surrounding their reactions goes.
