Jenna Ryan, who you might remember from the photo of her at the Capitol on January 6 posing in front of a smashed window and promoting her real estate business on video after taking her private jet to D.C., said the quiet part out loud on Twitter last Friday in response to a tweet predicting that she would land in jail for this stunt.

It actually began with her complaining about sexism in conservative media and accusing them of leaving her “to the vultures” as she faces down multiple federal charges related to the riot.

After someone responded with that Oprah gif saying “you’re goin’ to jail,” she basically said that her white privilege would keep her on the outside.

“Definitely not going to jail,” she replied. “Sorry I have blonde hair white skin a great job a great future and I’m not going to jail. Sorry to rain on your hater parade. I did nothing wrong.”

You might think that the first reason she would give for not going to jail is that she “did nothing wrong,” but she’s also not wrong that white people are significantly less likely to get jail or prison time for the same offenses that routinely put people of color behind bars. She’s just not supposed to admit it.

This is also a far cry from where she was just two months ago when she was seeking a pardon from then-president Donald Trump.

Ryan appears to be going through some things, judging by her other replies to people trolling her for facing consequences for once, which seem to jump from insisting that she has nothing to worry about to acting like she’s a martyr in line for crucifixion, to threatening to sue people for nothing.

By today she had an article from Politico, a source that the vast majority of conservatives would pan as having a heavy “liberal bias,” arguing that most of the people arrested and charged for participating in the insurrection won’t serve any jail time.

“I’m not going to jail, that’s for sure. I did nothing wrong,” she says.

She may be right about this, but may have also slipped up in exposing the real reason for why judges are expected to be lenient on the overwhelmingly white insurrection defendants while cracking down on Black people for protesting police brutality or having a bit of cannabis on them.
