Man Smashes Car Window Of COVID-Denier Yelling Conspiracies Through Megaphone

A video going viral on Reddit after being posted by u/skeptical_mofo is from an angry encounter in Vancouver last Saturday. The video features anti-masker Alex Lasarev, according to CTV News, and an unidentified man who attacked him. The COVID-denying conspiracy theorist was attracting attention by spreading his lies through a big megaphone, when a man on the street first pounded on his car window, then smashed it in with a bicycle.

In the clip, Lasarev calls the coronavirus a “psychological operation” that is meant to convince the world that we live in a reality “based on fear.” You know what’s scary? The 2,850,062 reported deaths from COVID-19 worldwide, not to mention the millions left struggling to recover or with lifetime ailments from the virus.

The man who smashes Lasarev’s window did give him a warning, telling him to “shut the f-ck up” to start:

Lasarev puts his foot out the window in the guy’s face, rolling the window up and down as the guy tries to snatch his megaphone. But then the man lifts a bike up and pounds it against the car and the window shatters. After that, Lasarev asks the guy if he’s “happy now,” and the guys says “yeah” because of course he would be.

“You’ve been psy-op’d, brother,” Lasarev tells him. “You’ve been psy-op’d. That’s what a psychological operation is.”

He then tells everyone gathered that the number of people who died in the past year is the same as die every year, which is false.

He continues, “You’ve been psychologically manipulated my friend. We still love you, but you need to wake the f-ck up.”

The Vancouver Police told CCTV that the man could be charged with mischief and assault with a weapon. Lasarev is incensed.

“He tries to punch me, he tries to punch my megaphone, he tries to grab the megaphone,” Lasarev complained. “We are free to express our opinion, whether it’s popular or not, that’s what a free country is supposed to be about.”

And people are allowed to respond how they want, even if it lands them in jail.
