Satirical ‘BYU Virginity Club’ Account Is So Good It’s Fooling People

A lot of people are out there having a hot girl (and guy) summer — great! It has been a long year of being stuck indoors, and if you are single, you are probably ready to meet some new people. Bust out your short shorts and halter tops if that’s your thing and go crash some picnics.

In a hilarious post, a satirical Instagram page called “Brigham Young University Virginity Club” decided to imagine what a stern warning from the infamously buttoned-up school would look like.

“After a year and a half of quarantine, some young adults are looking forward to a summer of sun, skin, and seux,” the post read. Spelling!

“Instead of Hot Girl Summer, try practicing Pious Girl Summer.”

“A summer full of scriptures, sun, and self-improvement through religious piety. And remember: modest is hottest!”

This was such a good satire that folks almost didn’t realize it was satire. Twitter user @jodiegrace shared the images before realizing she had been bested.

Look, have sex or don’t have sex. It’s nobody’s business. But I think we all know how abstinence-only education and slut-shaming can wreck a person’s sense of self and hinder their knowledge of their own body.

Enjoy your hot summer however you want, folks! If you want to run through the streets, do it. If you want to forlornly stare out of your window, go for it. But don’t let the Brigham Young Virginity Club — satire and all — dictate your summer fun!
