One TikToker who was just trying to enjoy a casual day at the beach instead discovered a lone protestor apparently upset that women were wearing bikinis.

@.katie.simmons uploaded a short video of herself confronting the man over the weekend.
In the clip, the guy—dressed in shorts and a long sleeve shirt with the sleeves pushed up — patrols along the waterfront holding a sign that reads: “God says Christian Women Dress Modest (1 Timothy 2:9).”

It also contains a note imploring these women to repent and “Turn to Jesus.”
Katie incredulously calls out to the man: “Sir, it’s a beach! Are we supposed to dress modest at a beach?”
“God doesn’t want women—“ the man starts, but she cuts him off. “What if God’s fake?”
Christians parading around public spaces demanding that everyone else bow to their own religious demands is nothing new, but there are places we’ve come to expect these things—comic book conventions, Pride parades, any sort of pro-human rights protest—and places where it would take anyone by surprise.
A dude with a Jesus sign waltzing by you on the beach definitely feels like it falls into the latter category. Viewers of Katie’s TikTok were equally taken aback.
“Bro why do people have the need to push their religion on others like that???” one user asked.
“It’s like going to a bar and being mad that people are drinking, like find a better use of your time and let people live,” another said.
Several pointed out that he might want to be more concerned with the Bible verses that command men not to be lustful, and that a lot of passages in the Bible are straightforward rules that Christian churches don’t even pretend to follow today.

And one TikToker pointed out that the verse in question actually refers to “not showing off the fact that you’re rich by going overboard with [jewelry]”—but of course that doesn’t help bored and sad men try to control women, so what use is it to them?
