Yet another example of a man who was an active participant in the assault on the Capitol on January 6 getting turned in to the FBI because he bragged to someone about in on a dating website just dropped, and it truly never gets old. This time, it’s Andrew Quentin Taake who was arrested by federal agents after they obtained screenshots of a photo and full confession he sent to a woman matched to him on dating app Bumble, allowing investigators to match him to photos of him pepper-spraying Capitol police and wielding a metal whip.

In the messages, Taake admitted to being at the riot from “the very beginning” and said he had been pepper-sprayed himself for “just standing there,” but images found on social media show him entering the Capitol building and appearing to take part in scuffles with police.

“Witness 1 messaged Taake on a dating app, Bumble, while he was in Washington, D.C.,” the charging document states. “Although Taake and Witness 1 never met in person, Taake discussed his participation in the riot with Witness 1 and sent Witness 1 several pictures of himself, including a picture of himself taken on January 6, 2021, after he was allegedly pepper sprayed by law enforcement officers.”
Using the selfie Taake sent to his Bumble match as well as the photos and video stills from that day, plus location data from the dating app and flight records to D.C., the FBI was able to put together a case and submitted official charging documents.
“Several of these images show Taake using what appears to be a metal whip and pepper spray to attack law enforcement officers.”
The 32-year-old is being charged with obstruction, disorderly conduct, protesting violently on Capitol grounds, and assault of police officers.
This is not even the first time a Capitol rioter was nabbed by the FBI after bragging about his participation to some complete stranger he matched with specifically on Bumble. In April, Robert Chapman was arrested in a story rather similar to this one in which he bragged about storming the Capitol to a Bumble match and she turned him in, leading directly to the FBI case against him.

“I did storm the Capitol,” Chapman told the lady he wanted to bone. “I made it all the way into Statuary Hall!” And then he made it all the way to jail.
