A right-wing pastor arrived home in Calgary earlier this week, only to be arrested as soon as he set foot on the tarmac.

Canada Border Services Agency slapped the cuffs on Artur Pawlowski after he returned from a month-long jaunt through the United States, spreading misinformation about COVID vaccines on a speaking tour.
According to police, he was taken in for warrants related to failing to wear a face mask in March and subsequently disobeying a court order in June.

Video of the arrest shows Pawlowski being purposely difficult as he’s being arrested, ignoring orders as an officer tries to arrest him and dramatically kneeling with his hands behind his back instead.
This isn’t the preacher’s first arrest this year, either.
Pawlowski and his brother, Dawid, repeatedly refused to comply with Alberta’s public safety mandates regarding COVID as they organized church services in the spring, going over capacity and refusing to require masks for attendees. They were arrested in May after ignoring an injunction warning them and informing them of the laws.
Dawid was also arrested with Artur this week.
While Pawlowski isn’t exactly a household name, those who have been familiar with his antics weren’t surprised by the arrest, or how it went down.

Pawlowski’s lawyer has confirmed that he is out following a bail hearing, but sentencing is expected to take place for both brothers on October 13.
