Anyone who’s pals with a Philadelphian has likely heard them rave about this kiosk or that food truck serving up a cheesesteak that’s to die for. Philly Cheesesteak is a Philly thing. We get it.

But Philly . . . Chipotle?

Police have released security footage in an effort to identify the woman who pulled a gun—twice—on the Chipotle staff at Roosevelt Mall. The incident took place in the Rhawnhurst neighborhood of Philadelphia last Saturday.

Due to a staffing shortage, the restaurant was closing early, at approximately 5 p.m. instead of their usual 10 p.m. closing time. Those customers still waiting for their food had been asked to order it online.

One woman, apparently taking umbrage at the request, pulled out a handgun in response. In security footage, she can be seen gesturing at the cashier with the firearm.

“I want to speak to the manager,” she said, brandishing the weapon.

The cashier hit the emergency button that notifies mall security of an incident.

While they waited for help to arrive, another Chipotle staff member took the woman’s order to appease her.

“If someone doesn’t make my food, I will be back and there will be a problem,” the woman warned them. She pointed the gun in their direction as she spoke.

However, she apparently then decided not to leave. Instead, she put her gun back in her purse and waited for her order.

As the staff prepared her order for her, the woman became impatient.

“Somebody better give me my food,” she said. She removed the gun from her purse again and pointing it at the staff.

The staff handed over her order as quickly as possible. The woman took her gun, her purse, and her Chipotle order, and left.

Many Twitter users made valid points about the need for common-sense gun laws to avoid violence and potential violence. Some also called out elected representatives who have worked diligently against regulating firearm ownership.
