Right-wing talk show host and alleged Christian Todd Starnes is facing a wave of criticism for tweeting that entire cities in Afghanistan should be leveled in response to every single American death in the country following a likely suicide bombing that killed at least 13 people outside of the airport in Kabul. Taliban guards as well as three U.S. soldiers were injured in a pair of explosions that are believed to have been carried out by the Islamic State, though the extremist group has not yet claimed credit for the attack.

In response, the supposedly Christian man tweeted something that many are seeing as a call to genocide.

“For every American who is killed, a city in Afghanistan should be wiped off the face of the Earth,” Starnes wrote.
The tweet before this one, posted one hour prior, is a prayer invoking Jesus Christ, who was famously against killing people in all circumstances, including in retaliation for an attack staged by someone else. Obviously, the Islamic State does not represent the whole of the Afghanistan populace, many of whom object to the far-right stance of the Taliban and absolutely despise the IS.
These facts resulted in a severe backlash against Starnes, who has not deleted the tweet, instead defending it by blaming the attack on the Taliban in spite of the fact that some of the victims were Taliban soldiers and it was very likely the Islamic State, the Taliban’s enemies. He has continued to tweet reports of American fatalities from the bombings.
According to Starnes, apparently, at least 10 whole Afghani cities should be leveled and millions killed in response to an attack by people many of those millions consider to be their enemies.
Here are just some of the responses calling out Starnes for being either a hypocrite, a fake Christian, or just a genocidal maniac:
