The relationship between Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox has been very publicly intense and horny. Good for them! Life is short, if you have the time to get hot and bothered for someone with a mutual interest in you, I say go for it. But for the rest of us watching, it has gotten to be a little much.

That might be why people were so quick to just jump on this random story the couple told for their GQ interview about how they first met. It’s a pretty innocuous story, and yet the Internet is freaking out over it. Truly, the straw that broke the camel’s back.

In the interview, Fox says when she first met MGK she told him, “You smell like weed.” He replied, “I am weed,” and then disappeared in a “smoke bomb.” And the I Am Weed meme was born.
She added that meeting MGK was “like meeting your own soul’s reflection” which is definitely something you would say while high. They probably didn’t think that anyone would make much of this little anecdote, but for some reason, it has become a huge meme all over social media. People are mostly using shots from dramatic, romantic films to caption using Megan Fox and MGK’s famous words. It actually suits them—they’re larger than life.
