Nebraska Anti-Masker Coughs In Fellow Shopper's Face While Denouncing Masks

The number of videos showing how rude, selfish, and aggressively inconsiderate anti-maskers are continues to grow, with no end in sight as long as the pandemic continues. And when it’s all finally subsided, they’ll remain, a reminder of the fact that people couldn’t pull it together in such a simple way even with such high stakes.

An anti-masker in Nebraska added to that seemingly endless log recently when she started purposely coughing on people shopping at a grocery store as some sort of retaliation against people wearing masks.

Redditor u/Jessabird said that the woman approached her and her kid at a Super Saver in Lincoln, Nebraska, to ask why they were masked up in the middle of a pandemic.

“That’s when I realized that she wasn’t wearing one herself,” Jessabird wrote. “I started walking away, while replying, ‘Because of the Delta variant, and also because there’s a mandate.’ Then she went on about how she was born and raised here in Nebraska, and it’s too bad that some Nebraskans have turned into sheep.”

Video of the encounter shows the woman walking up to Jessabird’s camera and pointedly coughing again and again as she smirks.

Someone else approaches them, staying off camera, and the anti-masker condescendingly coos about how cute everyone is for their concern. The new person confronts her about not wearing a mask, allowing her to go off about how people wouldn’t have cared if anyone was sick in a grocery store two years ago. Yeah, lady, that’s how a pandemic changes things.

An employee eventually tries to intervene, causing the anti-masker to claim that Jessabird was getting upset about her “allergies.”

“Maybe I have a medical release,” the woman says. “I don’t need to wear a mask.”

Jessabird said that after the video ended, the woman continued to follow her around the store after having singled her out for no apparent reason in the first place. The confrontation reportedly continued until the two got through the self-check-out lane and Jessabird got out of the store faster.

Purposely coughing on someone during COVID has resulted in several people in other states being charged with various crimes such as making terroristic threats and harassment. It’s rude and unnecessary regardless of being in the midst of a pandemic, but with COVID still in play, there’s certainly an added level of intentional aggression going on.

And as important as these videos might be to remind us how people have shown their true colors during all of this, it continues to be eternally grating that they not only act this way, but get away with it.

Internet sleuths dedicated to unmasking anti-maskers are, of course, already working to identify the woman.
