Access to therapy isn’t as easy as it should be for all the people who need it. We don’t have universal healthcare, there’s a lot of stigma around mental illness, and it’s also pretty aggravating to even find a therapist who can understand you or take your insurance(if you have it).

And sometimes a person isn’t entirely convinced that they need to go or would get anything out of it. So Twitter user @drivingmemadi was doing a very generous thing when they invited people who have managed to get therapy to jump in and share what they’ve learned from talking to a professional 45 minutes a week.

“If everyone drops one thing they learned in therapy we can all gain insight from this thread,” they wrote.
There actually was a whole lot of insight in the replies, maybe even enough to convince people that getting therapy is worth a try. And even if it doesn’t quite push anyone to get professional help, there is still some food for thought down below that will be haunting me for a while. In a good way.
