We’re in for another awful campaign season for the U.S. presidency, and it seems like it’ll be kicking off very, very soon. All signs point to Donald Trump running, and now there seems to be strong verbal confirmation of the fact from one of his conservative cronies, Rep. Jim Jordan. The Daily Mail reports that Undercurrent TV journalist Lauren Windsor recorded Jordan at a Dallas County GOP event in Iowa saying as much.

“President Trump, he’s going to run again,” Jordan can be heard saying in the clip.

A person asks, “You think so?”
“I know so, yeah, I talked to him yesterday,’” Jordan responds. “He’s about ready to announce after all of this craziness in Afghanistan.”
Windsor has said that a spokesperson for Jim Jordan reached out to her to deny he ever said what he is recorded saying on tape.

“Apparently Jim Jordan’s spokesperson has claimed he did not tell me tonight that Trump is imminently announcing his run for 2024,” she wrote before releasing the clip. “We can’t both be right. See for yourself, video coming tomorrow… stay tuned.”
Jordan is probably scared that his fascist king will be enraged someone stole his thunder. But lots of people have been trying, like former Trump adviser Jason Miller who said on Thursday that he is also pretty sure Trump’s running.
“I would say somewhere between 99 and 100%. I think he is definitely running in 2024,’ Miller said in an interview.

Trump’s been implying that he can’t legally say if he’s running or not because of “campaign finance laws,” saying in August to Sean Hannity on Fox News that he can’t answer any questions on the matter.
“As the campaign finance laws are extremely complicated and unbelievably stupid, I’m actually not allowed to answer that question, can you believe it?” Trump said. “I’d love to answer it. But let me put it this way, I think you’ll be happy and I think a lot of our friends will be very happy.”
And the rest of us? Very miserable.
