Conservative talk-radio personality (and we use the term loosely) Dennis Prager has recently offered a genius solution to climate change.

Prager begins his spiel by insulting women and anyone who went to college.
“Most people—even college has not fully knocked this out of people‑most people do assume that it is innate to women to want to have a child, to want to have children. So, when a woman says, ‘I don’t want children because of a certain issue,’ I don’t know if people judge her harshly—I do, I think she’s an idiot—but it’s not that most people are judging her harshly, it’s just that most people are just confused.”
The pandering becomes less subtle as Prager—the co-founder of the YouTube Channel that he has christened “Prager U[niversity]”—continues,
“Why do I think she’s an idiot? Because I don’t believe for a nanosecond that the world is on the verge of extinction due to global warming. This is one of the many, many lies that people who—with college degrees believe. That’s all it is, my friends.”
That’s certainly an interesting argument. Let’s check those premises:
- Dennis Prager, who has been married three times, is a bona fide expert in what women want.
- Dennis Prager, who made a YouTube channel called Prager U, thinks everyone who went to college believes only lies.
- One of those lies is global warming.
- Women who don’t want to have children are idiots.
- Possibly all women are idiots (we’ll get to that in a minute).
- Global warming is a lie believed exclusively by people who attended college (not to be confused with YouTube channel Prager U)
Whelp. That tracks.

Helpfully, Prager has learned how to bolster his own argument by successfully incorporating and addressing rhetorical counterpoints that those who disagree might offer:
“I don’t, I don’t deny that the world is getting warmer,” he goes on to say. “But did you know, for example, that far more people to this day die of freezing than of warm, than of warm climate? Did you know that there is a solution to warm climate? It’s called air conditioning? It’s very effective. Anyway, women have bought this hook, line, and sinker.”
Let’s see what we can add to the above list of premises.
- Women are really, really stupid
- Especially if they went to college, but maybe also if they didn’t
- Women DO WANT CHILDREN, DAMMIT! Don’t argue with Dennis!
- Climate change is really “global warming,” even though using the phrase “global warming” hasn’t been considered best practice in over a decade, precisely because it ignores all the other aspects of our current climate crisis that is driven by energy overconsumption, pollution, and environmental degradation by human beings
- If we call climate change “global warming,” we can pretend that the only problem those crazy climate hysterics wail about is that the weather gets a little warm sometimes! WIMPS!
- And then, we can just turn on the air conditioning!

Thankfully, virtually every person on Twitter was only too happy to point out the obvious idiocy of the argument—and obvious disingenuousness of the speaker, who is clearly out to stoke class-based resentments and pander to people who don’t know how to discern a reliable source from a crank like him.

We leave you with the image of Dennis Prager washed out to sea in a flood brought about by climate change. He desperately clings to a solitary AC unit as both are tossed among the waves. Lots of female scientists laugh from a helicopter above and refuse to toss him a rope.
