Pretty much any woman can tell you about an experience they’ve had where a man disrespected their feelings, personal space, and safety. Street harassment is common and young girls learn quickly the best way to avoid conflict. Even something that seems harmless can escalate quickly when the guy hears “no,” and it can get very scary.

A woman on TikTok posting under the handle @loreboree has one of the worst kinds of harassers: a stalker.
A video of an interaction with the man who has been harassing her for four years went viral on TikTok and Twitter. In the clip, the young lady is walking briskly away from an older man who is begging her for two minutes of her time. We all know that he doesn’t want just two minutes, and in between begging her he insults her, tells her he doesn’t care what she wants and asks if she’s a prostitute. Meanwhile, she begs him to leave her alone over and over:

This would be unsettling if it was a one-time thing, but apparently, this man has been following her around her town for years and the police were never very helpful. To get a restraining order, she says she’d have to give the man her address and identity…so he could avoid her.
It’s understandable why she is hesitant to do such a thing, but in a follow-up she said that police took her seriously after the video went viral. But she says she still ended up moving to get away from her harasser:
It’s an awful experience to have gone through and it might be more awful because it is a pretty common experience, which you can tell by reading the replies. Lots of women shared times when they were followed or even assaulted by strange men on the street:

Funny thing is in self-defense classes just like in actual nature they say the best defense is to get the f*ck away from the situation. Usually the only person that beats the bad guy with a guy is a worse guy with a gun.

It starts much younger than “her age” (I assume you mean the woman in the video). The first time a man ever said gross things to me, AND was masturbating, I was 8 years old. Walking home from school and he was parked in a car right next to where I had to walk by on the sidewalk.

It’s hard to reason with guys who do this, but if you’re a guy who knows a guy, step in and do something. It can actually be a matter of life or death.
