I just—
I mean, we all knew this was coming, right? We all knew deep in our bones that at some point a f–king influencer would pose at a Holocaust Memorial site. This isn’t a shock that it came to this, but here we are, here I am, with my jaw on the floor and my eyes stuck in a permanent eye roll.

A viral TikTok video from “Influencers in the Wild” showed an influencer posing at the Holocaust memorial in Berlin, Germany.
The video has over 10 million views and the caption says simply: “Don’t do this, ever.”
A German influencer sits on one of the concrete slabs in the memorial, posing for a photoshoot with a photographer, which means that two people were this stupid TOGETHER.
An unseen woman says, “I’m horrified beyond words.”
The Holocaust Memorial in Berlin was designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineered by Buro Happold. It was created in memory of the Jewish victims of the Holocaust and is titled Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. It is a 200,000-square-foot site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or “stelae.”
Commenters joined me in my absolute HORROR at this travesty.
One person wrote, “This place has probably the most eerie, loudest silence I’ve ever experienced. I couldn’t imagine thinking this was somewhere for that.”
“Are you kidding me?” wrote another. Yeah. Same.
LORD. THE DISRESPECT. “The people saying, ‘the artist said it’s ok to take photos,’ are completely missing the point of why this is disrespectful.”

Amazingly, this also isn’t the first time the Holocaust Memorial has been posed on or WHATEVER is happening here. YouTube videos detail instances of inappropriate behavior and pictures. There’s also a project titled “Yolocaust” by artist and activist Shahak Shapira.
I just can’t. People, for f-ck’s sake, stop being so self-centered and LOOK AROUND YOU.
