Sign Searching For New Hire Who ‘Doesn’t Cry’ Has People Calling Out The Red Flags

Anyone who has spent time job hunting in recent years knows how to spot some of the more common red flags — a wide array of skilled responsibilities for “entry level” positions, a claim of “occasional” nights and weekends required, any variation on “looking for a rockstar!”

But some companies don’t even bother trying to couch their red flags in something more palatable, instead offering up the warning in terms even an inexperienced job hunter could spot.

A photo of a sign from Kreation Organic, a Los Angeles-based juice shop, made that faux pas, and their obnoxious sign looking for a new employee, presumably of the robotic variety based on the listed qualifications, is going viral as yet another example of what’s wrong with companies today.

“Still looking for that special person,” the sign reads, before listing off a number of requirements including “open schedule,” “is never late,” “smiles no matter what,” “has no bullsh*t,” and perhaps the most telling request, “doesn’t cry.”

Companies keep complaining that we’re in a supposed worker crisis, and yet they keep refusing to adjust wages or expectations — most jobs seem to require employees to be at their beck and call (even for part-time work!), have zero work-life balance, and put up with endless nonsense and abuse from management, all for incredibly underwhelming pay to boot.

According to internet sleuths, jobs at Kreation generally pay $15/hour — the minimum wage in California starting next month — but even without that info, the sign alone is enough to make people know it’s not a place they would want to work given any options whatsoever.

A 2017 BuzzFeed article reported that employees had filed “multiple lawsuits” against the company, with “failure to pay overtime” as a common complaint, as well as a failure to appropriately compensate for missed breaks and paid sick time.

And they’re having a hard time finding new employees? Crazy!

According to @jensontitus, who originally shared the photo, the sign has since been taken down. And something tells us it’s not because the position was actually filled.
