The iconic rapper was among those who performed at the 2022 halftime show, along with Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and other music greats. However, some people on social media focused on his weight rather than the show, making derogatory and uncalled-for comments that ultimately prompted the New York Post to include mention of it in a headline.

“50 Cent claps back at his Super Bowl fat-shaming haters with sweet merch,” it read.
Fiddy didn’t seem too bothered, eventually resharing the headline and some of the article itself, writing, “I call this teasing me, They’re just teasing me because they know i can drop the weight. that’s why i laugh with them. Fat shaming only applies when your [sic] ashamed of your fat.”
Fans threw their support behind him after his post, with several mentioning the fact that he hung upside down at the start of the halftime performance as proof that he’s doing just fine.

BuzzFeed brought up the important point that 50 Cent has engaged in shaming celebrities for their looks as of late himself, most famously having to apologize to Madonna after being a jerk about her lingerie photos in December. So while some are applauding him for “body positivity,” hopefully that a courtesy that the rapper learns to extend to others as well. But in the meantime, all the trolls who wasted their breath trying to shame him are learning that’s just not going to work out so well.
