26 Of The Creepiest Things Children Have Ever Said

There’s no denying kids say some weird stuff. And we’re not talking the cutesy things that parents like to share on the internet just because hearing adult words come out of small humans is something parents obsess over like it’s some novelty. No, we’re talking the kind of things that make you wonder if you should be calling an exorcist, or at least a psychic.

Writer Lilah Sturges solicited others’ experiences when she recently asked for folks to share the “eeriest thing a child has ever said to you.”

She kicked off the thread with a story of her own daughter, who, when she was around four or five, “calmly insisted that she had once been married to a man named Brad Huffington. When we asked what had happened, she replied with a note of sadness, ‘He was lost at sea.’”

Update: I mentioned this tweet to my daughter (who is now 21) and she reminded me that Brad lost a leg while serving in the Navy prior to his demise and that they had five kids together.

He stopped mentioning them by 5yo. At 8yo it felt like nbd, and we brought up the Hahas. He didn’t remember them at first, but then he did. He got really quiet. Said he didn’t want to talk about it anymore and left the room. He is 15 now and I will never bring them up again.

Just finished commenting a similar story about my own daughter who said she was my best friend who died when I was 16 & then saw this comment. She is an adult now & still believes this is true. There is def a resemblance. Maybe souls stick together from one life to the next…
