A clip featuring a Fox News anchor reacting to a guest pushing the claim that the election isn’t actually over yet has gone viral, as Biden voters finally find common ground with anyone on Fox.

It’s been three days since Joe Biden was declared the winner of the 2020 presidential election, but too many Republican politicians and conservative commentators have refused to accept the results. As he’s currently leading with 290 electoral votes across the country, and Georgia still may be called in his favor as well, it seems unlikely that any challenge to the results will change the outcome.

Even Fox News, which has famously propped up President Trump and helped normalize his behavior over the years, called the election for Biden at the same time as all the other networks.

So when conservative attorney Cleta Mitchell appeared on “America’s Newsroom” and insisted that the election wasn’t finished playing out, anchor Sandra Smith was surprised the show’s host didn’t correct her comments.

“Just because CNN says — or even Fox News says — that someone is president, doesn’t make them president,” Mitchell said, regurgitating a common MAGA talking point from recent days.

Of course, the networks have merely reported on the existing data pouring in from counties across the country, and made predictions based on the number of ballots remaining to be counted and the likelihood of their ability to change the outcome. Networks aren’t simply saying, out of nowhere, that Joe Biden should be president.

Smith was not supposed to be on the air at the time, but was apparently still being recorded, and a hot mic picked up her comments in response to Mitchell’s.

“What? What is happening? Like, Trace, we’ve called it,” she says, addressing her frustration at the show’s host.

Folks online were surprised to hear someone on Fox News pushing back against a refusal to accept the results, even if she didn’t realize anyone could hear her.
