The Catholic church may often be accused of dragging its heels when it comes to investigating any number of scandals that happen behind closed doors, but the Vatican is making the time to investigate an awkward Instagram “like” originating from the pope’s official account.

Pope Francis (@franciscus) “liked” a picture of Instagram model Natalia Garibotto dressed in a sexy schoolgirl outfit and posing in a locker room at some point between October 5, when the photo was first posted, and November 13, when the Pope’s seal of approval was apparently first noticed.

According to the Catholic News Agency, the pope’s Instagram is run by a team of people, which makes a lot more sense than the pope himself scrolling through Insta in between his holy duties. And an investigation is reportedly underway to see what exactly happened, and who might have “liked” the pic while logged into Pope Francis’s account.

But that didn’t stop Twitter users from having fun with the whole controversy.

As for Garibotto, she didn’t notice the holy “like” until it was brought to her attention by all the press coverage. But once it was, she clearly felt blessed by the spirit.

“At least I’m going to heaven,” she joked, alongside a video that shows evidence of the social media interaction before the papal Instagram “unliked” the pic on November 14.

She also told Barstool Sports that “my mom may hate my ass pics but the pope be double tapping.”
