Trump Drops Hints He’ll Run Again In 2024 At White House Christmas Party

Donald Trump once again suggested that he will run for president again in 2024 after handily losing the 2020 race, although he still refuses to admit that happened. According to The Independent, the early White House Christmas party is the first time Trump has said he’ll run in 2024 in public and he essentially confirmed that this is his plan.

“It’s been an amazing four years,” Trump said in a speech to the party-goers. “We are trying to do another four years. Otherwise, I’ll see you in four years.”

The crowd largely responded with cheers, which likely means that Trump did not intend to mean he’s taking a four-year vacation to live in a hole.

As many have noted already, most of the Republican attendees did not wear masks and coughing can be heard multiple times in the videos of the event.

Aside from the 2024 teaser, Trump made his usual unsupported claims about 2020 election fraud and then tried to take all the credit for the coronavirus vaccine.

This is not the first time the idea of another Trump run in 2024 has come up. The Daily Beast reported on Saturday that multiple sources close to the president told them he’s considering a 2024 run, discussing the possibility with close advisors. He may even be thinking of launching his campaign on Joe Biden’s Inauguration Day.

This, of course, assumes that Trump’s efforts to challenge the 2020 results fail, which they are. Even Attorney General William Barr recently was forced to admit that there was no widespread election fraud, telling the Associated Press that “to date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election.”

Trump will face an uphill battle if he runs in 2024, when he would be the one running against the incumbent president — and one who already beat him, at that. Historically, candidates who have lost in past presidential elections have a very hard time regaining support. Most tend to fade from public view after losing, but this is Donald Trump, so who knows what will happen?
