Sen. Kelly Loeffler (R-Ga.), in the midst of a runoff election to retain her Senate seat, spoke to media on Wednesday. Despite media asking at least five (and upwards of nine) different times in a two-minute span to acknowledge that Joe Biden beat Donald Trump in the 2020 presidential election, she refused to admit what even Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell—name-checked in one of her answers—acknowledged earlier in the week.

A tweet thread from Ryan Nobles, a CNN correspondent, gives an overview of the clip he posted, along with specific examples of denying what the majority of the country determined at the polls last month, and what Electoral College electors confirmed Monday.

Nobles cited several examples, including:
“January 6 is a long way off, there’s a lot to play out between now and then,” when asked if she will object to the Electoral College results. (January 6 is the day that Congress will certify the results; that’s typically a ceremonial event.)

Loeffler also said, “The President has a right to every legal recourse. That’s what’s playing out right now,” when asked if she will acknowledge President-Elect Biden as the President-Elect.

Loeffler was also asked if she was concerned about the impact that not acknowledging Biden’s win would affect her in her upcoming Jan. 5 runoff against Raphael Warnock. She said, “What I’m worried about is that we have free and fair elections that are trusted here in Georgia.”

And to close out the two-minute segment, Loeffler was asked if she’ll ever acknowledge Biden as President. She stated, “Look there’ll be a time for that if that becomes true.”
Loeffler, who describes herself as both a “political outsider” and a “U.S. Senator” in her Twitter bio, also utilized one question as a springboard to her messaging about Warnock as a dangerous socialist. That’s something she consistently is going to on her own Twitter account frequently, as she did Wednesday while sharing a video of her being interviewed by Fox News Channel.

Though many reacted directly to Nobles’ tweet with their own takes on Loeffler and her message, one person took the platform to say, “I couldn’t even make it through the 2 minutes before I felt she was just wasting my time and pissing me off.”
