Following the attempted coup at the Capitol by a pro-Trump mob on January 6, comments and speeches by multiple Republicans were criticized for appearing to egg on the very people who engaged in the insurrection. Figures such as Ted Cruz, Rudy Giuliani, and, of course, Trump himself encouraged supporters to “fight back” and used other inflammatory language up to the moment before the crowd went off to storm the Capitol building.

But the recently-sworn in Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who gained fame as the first member of congress who has openly voiced support for QAnon, may end up getting the worst of this scrutiny after Facebook comments made by her supporters were examined.

People found multiple comments calling for the hanging or shooting of high-level Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama that were liked or positively commented on by Greene.
According to CNN, Greene liked one comment responding to something about the desired removal of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, saying that “a bullet to the head would be quicker.”
In 2018, one commenter asked if “we get to hang” Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama in response to Greene’s post about the Iran nuclear deal. Greene’s reply to this commenter is really not what you want from an elected official in the federal government.

“Stage is being set. Players are being put in place,” she wrote. “We must be patient. This must be done perfectly or liberal judges would let them off.”
When asked for comment on these violent remarks and Greene’s seeming support of them, the congresswoman denied any responsibility, blaming social media teams she allegedly had years before she ever ran for office.
“Over the years, I’ve had teams of people manage my pages,” she claimed. “Many posts have been liked. Many posts have been shared. Some did not represent my views. Especially the ones that CNN is about to spread across the internet.”
Not just CNN, Marjorie.
This deflection falls flat, however, considering the fact that Greene has not-so-subtly called for the execution of Nancy Pelosi in filmed speeches, repeatedly accusing her of “treason” and noting that the punishment for this crime can be death.

“She took an oath to protect American citizens and uphold our laws,” she said in a Facebook Live video that is still up on her page. “And she gives aid and comfort to our enemies who illegally invade our land. That’s what treason is. And by our law representatives and senators can be kicked out and no longer serve in our government. And it’s, uh, it’s a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason.”

During Greene’s 2020 campaign, Facebook removed one of her videos for promoting “the sale or use of weapons, ammunition, or explosives.” In the campaign ad, Greene loaded an AR-15 while telling “antifa terrorists” to “stay the hell out of Northwest Georgia.”
Following calls for Greene to be expelled from Congress, Green issued a statement claiming to “fully condemn ALL violence.” Few believed her.
