Celebrities React To Trump’s Acquittal Following Second Impeachment

That former president Trump was acquitted after his second impeachment trial is no surprise, but it is a disgrace. Even Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — who voted not guilty — called Trump “practically and morally responsible” for inciting the insurrection at the Capitol on January 6.

But most members of the GOP in the Senate would apparently rather roll over and show subservience to domestic terrorists than risk losing the voters that got Trump elected in the first place, so here we are.

However, people who actually frown on things like “corruption” and “attempts to overthrow the government” and “plots to murder Congress” are still deeply unhappy with the outcome of the vote, no matter how asinine and predictable it was.

Celebrities tuned into the final day of the trial were ready for the worst.

And they were obviously proven correct, soon expressing frustration that Trump got off for something we all saw him do.

Right now, the worst consequence Trump has faced is having his SAG-AFTRA membership revoked. That is literally where the United States is at, following an insurrection that even Republican leaders have placed on his head. How dark.
