A TikToker’s Valentine’s Day “gift” for her husband is stirring up controversy and sparking discussions about toxic jealousy in relationships.

Gloria (@gr93la) shared a video to her page before the holiday showing herself wrapping up four styrofoam blocks to create the base of her eventual present for her man.

“Since everybody’s sharing what they got their significant other for Valentine’s Day, I thought I’d share mine,” she says, over the Glee version of Jazmine Sullivan’s “Bust Your Windows.”

“So, I got my husband this cute little box, filled it with pictures — all the girls’ photos that he’s been ‘liking’ on Instagram,” she continues. “Hope he likes it.”

Sure enough, the final display is an array of photos of women printed, cut out, and taped to sticks. Each picture is clearly taken from Instagram, and features a red heart, indicating that they had been ‘liked.’

Commenters were torn in their responses. Some laughed it off as a light-hearted joke, while others praised the levels of pettiness Gloria is achieving with this sort of backhanded VDay gift.

“I aspire to be this petty when I’m in a relationship,” wrote @javavelvet.

“icon. legend. inspiration,” added @sarahsek1.

But others suggested being shady about her significant other liking pictures of other women is ultimately going to lead to relationship problems.

“I think a conversation about how this action makes you feel would be healthier than letting it fester and boil over into a grand gesture like this,” offered @bubblegumshane.

Gloria posted a follow-up video of her giving the gift to her husband, which doesn’t shed much clarity on the situation. He says ‘thanks,’ seems confused, she laughs, and the video ends.

Ultimately, Gloria says the whole thing was a joke, and of course nobody ever knows what people’s private relationships are really like. If that’s some humor they can both get behind for Valentine’s Day, good for them!

But if anyone’s thinking about taking this gift seriously and making a truly passive aggressive version for their own boyfriend/girlfriend rather than talking stuff out…maybe some DIY ideas are better left on TikTok.
